Wiki

The krl2pt0 practice Wiki is a great idea. This gives us the opportunity to practice and at the samt time come up with ideas for the use of a Wiki. KRL could have a Reader's Advisory Wiki. This would be great fun.

Frontline staff could use a Wiki to discuss challenges and solutions to those challenges. This is another new tool to learn and use.

YouTube

I enjoyed watching the YouTube videos. The shipment crate video with Dottie Mae is great. I can see YouTube or something like it being used for training on a number of subjects. Viewing the topic, hearing it explained and being able to view at your leasure are all positives. I watched a grade school student in Ireland show how to made a snowman out of tissue paper. He did a great job. If he can do it we can.

Library Thing

Library Thing made me think about all the books I have read and some of my favorites to post. I plan to use Library Thing to keep track of what I read and to create lists of suggested reading. Martha Bayley gives great book talks, I usually read everything she suggests.

Flickr

I really enjoyed the lesson on Flickr. I have a Flickr account and added some sunflower pictures. I looked at the groups list and viewed some photos by a Bainbridge Island group. The photos in Flickr are easy to search and view. I plan to add more photos when I get the time. I will set them up to be viewed by people I select.

Podcasts

This was fun. There are so many podcasts out there you could spend all your time viewing or listening to them. I listened to some poetry being read in one podcast. In another podcast called 'The Irish Snowman' I watched a grade school child discribe how he made a snowman out of tissue, cardboard and newspaper. This just proves that podcasting as a training tool is so easy even a child can do it. I ran across podcasts of music, cooking, gardening and photography. The potential uses for podcasting are many, I hope to see some being used by KRL in the coming year.
