Delicious

I love Delicious. I have a long long favorites list on my home computer. I can now select the ones I wish to tag in Delicious and get rid of the rest. Having the ability to group and search my tags is a real plus.

The uses for Social Bookmarking are endless. KRL can use Social Bookmarking for training: refresher training, customer service training, supervisor training, time management training to name just a few. Quick access to information is another reason to use Social Bookmarking. We can tag a site with valid demographics information, updated local orgainzations directories and more.

I tagged Advantages in Blogs: Five reasons why I like Blogs. This is a good site to go to if you are still confused about the purpose of Blogs. Libraries using Podcasting and Social Bookmarking are two other sites I tagged.

Museums are a favorite web crusing passtime of mine. I tagged the Louvre Museum and the British Museum in my Delicious account. If anyone knows of any museum that has a great web site please share with me.

This weeks lesson has been both fun and informative.

7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners.

We are always learning. Become a proactive learner. Take a class, become involved in your community, take up a sport, join a book group, read. Atitude is everything when it comes to learning. Accept responsibility for your learning. Have confidence in what you do, mistakes can present you with a challenge that might lead you in a new exciting direction.

Technology can present you with the tools to make learning fun and interesting. KRL2pt0 is presenting us with some tools we can use in our work and private lives. One of the best ways to really learn something well is to teach it. Teach a class on knitting, a foriegn language, using the KRL Library Catalog, or coach a childrens sports team.

Set up a contract with yourself. What is your learning goal or goals? What do you need for tools to acomplish your goal? Do you need help? Who can give you that help?

Don't forget to make learning fun through play. Keep an open mind and let the learning begin.
